Football Association of Wales – Dragon Park

Introduction

After the first installation at The Vale resort, it was then time for our engineers to attend Dragon Park, known as the home of Welsh Football and the Wales National Football Development Centre.

Client’s Situation

With Dragon Park being the home of Welsh Football, it was amazing to get the second unit in there. With mainly the Wales under-21’s, Wales Women’s and the younger age-group squads using the facilities to train and play at, it is also the headquarters for the Welsh Football Trust who are the games development body and is home to all the analysis suites, sports science laboratories and coaching education facilities. With the £5m complex being a joint venture between UEFA, FAW, Sport Wales and the Newport City Council, it was important that this unit also fit the culture that had been developed and adopted.

Our Solution

Now onto the installation, this was the second of the three units that the Football Association of Wales purchased. The club had an area prepared and ready for the unit to be installed, meaning that the focus then was working on the electrical requirements that the club need in terms of for the power supply etc.

Our engineer Duncan attended the second installation the same as he did the first, once the unit had been installed and commissioned at the discussed location for the coaches, staff, and players to clean their shoes/boots off before going into their changing rooms and other areas of the club and venue, Duncan then provided all CofC’s, and other relevant paperwork to the club.

Client’s Benefits

This is the second unit that the FAW has had installed, with the third and final unit to be installed in the coming week or so. Whilst carrying out the installation, it was commented on the aesthetic look of the unit fitting into the surroundings.
